My Story

People like to believe in fate. I believe fate brought me to Osteopathy.

Osteopathy is a great passion in my life, and I consider myself hugely fortunate to spend my working days bringing the gift of pain free movement to women, men, children and their beloved animals.

I spent many childhood years finding ways to spend time with animals, having been that kid who loved to give her mother palpitations running up to random dogs and finding my way into paddocks with every horse I could find. The natural progression was to begin my university career in the pursuit of becoming a vet. Sadly, yet in many ways thankfully, I didn’t quite get there before the big social life of college got me first and struck me down with glandular fever. Fate then stepped in while I was on a break from studying, and threw me an admin job with a chiropractor which steered me in the direction of Osteopathy, which just happened to be being offered for the first time in NSW the following year. The rest is history as they say. I graduated from University of Western Sydney with a Master of Osteopathy, and most of my sanity intact, in 2003.

After 6 years of hugely rewarding human practice treating a wide range of patients from newborns to the elderly, the animals made their way back into the plan.  I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Animal Chiropractic with Distinction (now renamed Animal Biomechanical Medicine to recognise the contributions of the three included professions – Vets, Chiros and Osteos).

Since then I had the joy of moving to Ireland, setting up a thriving mobile practice – Centaurus Equestrian Rehabilitation in Co. Kildare working with horses, dogs, the odd cat, sheep or duck and their humans. I also managed to find the elusive husband material Irishman and in 2013  we welcomed our first daughter into our world, putting the horses on a slight back foot. She was closely followed by daughter number two. Naturally, having been thrown in the deep end of motherhood and the rigours thereof, I have over time become more and more interested in helping women and their children be their best physical selves with the help of osteopathic treatment.

In September 2017 we relocated our entire clan back to the Hawkesbury region of Sydney, Australia, and I now balance my mobile practice with three days in human practice at Castle Hill Osteopathic Clinic.

My practice now is beautifully varied, with patients as tiny as newborn babies and as huge as 18 hand high dressage horses. I could never have imagined finding myself almost by accident (though admittedly with a significant amount of hard work too) with a career and business I never dread getting out of bed in the mornings for.  It is my greatest joy to be able to help every patient find their way towards their best movement and health.

In this site I hope to compile a vast array of posts which cover many aspects of my daily practice of Osteopathy, as it applies to my many and varied patients, and hope you enjoy perusing these posts.
